Byway Organization |

The organization is a volunteer based not for profit (501 c3) group with an adopted set of bylaws, an elected set of officers, and professional services provided by member partners. The group meets monthly to conduct business and annually (March) hosts its Big Event: a dinner and night of celebrating the stories of the Coulee Corridor. The management core group (Coulee Corridor Consortium) is comprised of private individuals and public and private sector partners that help develop and carry out the corridor management plan and associated improvement projects and programs.

The organization's major functions are to promote sustainable tourism along with appreciation, interpretation, and stewardship of natural and heritage resources along the byway.

1) Economic Development:
The byway offers enhanced promotional opportunity by assembling a set of attractions and experiences along a travel corridor.
2) Community Services & Amenities:
The Byway helps to improve community and traveler facilities like rest areas, gateway centers, interpretive sites, vista pullouts, and way finding signage.
3) Visitor Management:
The Byway helps to coordinate the distribution of visitors throughout a regional corridor and help manage potential visitor impacts.
4) Roadway enhancements:
The Byway works to improve the road's character, quality, and safety.
5) Resource Stewardship:
The Byway offers an effective way to cultivate a greater appreciation for the region's natural and cultural resources.
